I am really
angered by the fact that this series shows MALE FRONTAL NUDITY but the
women cover up by wearing a merkin! It's sexist garbage that women get to
wear a merkin! (a merkin is fake hair patch) The sexist producers just use
that to HIDE the woman's, so that nothing can be seen. This was talked about
in an interview with Lucy Lawless that can be seen on Youtube at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=506h_-oG1dE&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Ewatcherswatch%2Ecom%2Fblog%2F729091&feature=player_embedded#t=112
What a bunch of
crap!!! How come male actors have to go FULL FRONTAL, but women get to wear a
merkin?? If men have to show theirs, then women should have to show
EVERYTHING too!!!. If male have to show everything, then females should be shown
also. It's only fair. Why is the female's considered
taboo, but not male's? And now we can't even see a woman's without a merkin
patch, yet the men are forced to show everything?? That is absurdly
unfair! Men should start boycotting movies/cable television that shows everything
unless women have to show everything too! {edited for language and courtesy}

You should watch British actresses, they study Acting until they have no problems being nude or showing full frontals. They get even more respect for doing nudity, even though society hass some issues. When they are old, they say 'hey I had the balls to do this'. The way I see it no actor/Actress should refuse or have issues getting nude. Its part of the job. If they dont like it - show the door, especially a Rome theme. Producers need to stop being soft and be more firm or this show will go down a slippery path and not recover. PS: its not just a US show, its WORLDWIDE. All the producer needs is a member of the FCC to coordinate with the directors/producers on each episode on site, simple really. Where there is a wish, there is a way.

For years, they never show a lot of male frontal nudities in movies, but a lot of women's. It's about time for them to do this and I support it 100%. How come I would never hear your loud mouth complaining before when there were a lot of women nudities in film, but very few of men. Why don't you tune out and watch "The L Word" instead and stop being so hysterical. P.S. I will be watching every single episode, and please keep up the good work

I have seen a lot of what is going to end up on the screen when everything is finished, though I am not employed by Starz nor am I associated directly with the production in any way. In other words, this is an outsider's opinion, not somebody paid to tell you rosy stories. For the sake of disclosure, I have also never watched a single episode of Xena, nor am I a stereotypical "Graphic Novel Fanboy." Without giving anything away, there's equal amounts of nudity for both the male and female actors. The nudity is appropriate for the period and is not gratuitous nor is it obscene. It is true to the story and necessary for the plot. This show is also plot and character driven. The nudity, violence and bloodshed are not gimicks, they are necessary to tell a compelling story of which Steven DeKnight is doing an excellent job. In all likelyhood this will end up being Rob Tapert's masterpiece and the show will be nominated for many Emmies and will probably win Emmies for Costume, Set Design, and acting for several of the actors on the show. I also would not be surprised to see Steven DeKnight walk away with some awards as well. You can't legitimately complain about something until you've actually seen what you're talking about. Otherwise you're just being a contrarian and an {please keep it clean} Why don't you wait until you've seen something before you {please keep it clean} Message Edited by KaLin on 11-05-2009 06:20 AM
